Open to civil servants and, if none apply, to contract staff. A person who did not pass a civil service competition can be hired directly for this category C grade.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Driving licence required.
- Able to drive the sweeper-washer professionally.
- Mechanical skills.
- Sense of public service and pride in good work.
- Rigorous, independent and able to report back.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Saturday morning work on a rota.
- Shift hours (5am-1pm) or day hours (7:30am-4:30pm) depending on activity.
- 37.5 hours per week (25 days annual leave + 15 RTT days).
- Background noise from the sweeper and long periods standing up.
