The job is open to civil servants and contract agents. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade in category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Category B driving licence required; category C licence preferred.
- Knowledge of road signage rules.
- Good skills with tractors, loaders and trucks.
- Knowledge of road techniques and structures.
- Ability to carry out small maintenance and repair work.
- Good team spirit, rigour and availability.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.

- The job involves on-call duty and particular working hours.

- If a contract agent is hired, the contract cannot exceed 3 years, but it can be renewed up to 6 years in total.
