Civil servants and contract workers can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly, because the entry grade of category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Knowledge of temporary road signs and road safety rules.
- Knowledge of how vehicles, their equipment and tools work.
- Knowledge of the highway code and the departmental regulations.
- Knowledge of how to maintain road surfaces and structures.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Driving licence categories B and C required.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 8 (Closes in 10 days)
Apply on the Isère council website, in the section « Nos emplois ». Select the job, attach your documents and complete the form.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- On-call duty at home and availability during winter.
- The job may involve work across the whole Grésivaudan road network.
- Three similar posts are open.
- Some monitoring may be done by bicycle.
