Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. A person who did not pass a civil service competition can be hired directly at this entry grade of category C. People recognised as disabled workers can also apply through a contract.

The profile they look for:
- Knowledge of road maintenance techniques and road signs.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety rules.
- Likes working indoors and outdoors in all weather.
- Team spirit and good teamwork.
- Driving licence B required; licences C and CE wanted.
- Lives within 30 minutes at most of the work centre.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- On-call duty all year, especially during winter road conditions.
- Remote work not possible.
- Category C job, no management role.
- Must live within 30 minutes of the work centre.
