Civil servants and contract agents can apply. A person who is not a civil servant can be hired directly at an entry grade of category C. People recognised as disabled workers can also apply under a contract.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: Building maintenance at CAP/BEP level at least. Driving licence B required.
Experience: Experienced candidate
The profile they look for:
- Proven experience in a local authority under 10,000 residents
- Good knowledge of public spaces and facilities
- Good knowledge of green space maintenance techniques
- Public service mindset and teamwork
- Strict respect of safety rules
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, or send your file by post or email to the town hall's human resources department.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Outdoor work in all weather
- Work on public roads and physically hard postures
- Possible work outside the usual weekly schedule
- Remote work not possible
