Civil servants and contract agents can apply. A person who did not pass a competitive exam can be hired, because the entry grade is category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Very flexible, with possibly irregular or shifted hours.
- Constant travel between work sites.
- Dynamic, organised and careful.
- Frequent contact with elected officials, residents and suppliers.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Remote work is not possible.
- Hours may be irregular or shifted depending on the service.
- Physically demanding job: noise, lifting loads, dangerous machines, polluting products.
