Civil servants and contract staff. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly for this entry-level grade (category C) of adjoint technique.

The profile they look for:
- Work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Be very available, with irregular working hours.
- Accept constant travel between work sites.
- Follow health and safety rules at work.
- Accept physically demanding work: lifting, noise, standing for long periods.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
