1 Check the conditions You are here
Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade in category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Be very available, with irregular working hours.
- Accept strong seasonal work and peaks linked to weather.
- Cope with hard conditions: noise, lifting loads, dangerous products.
- Have frequent contact with elected officials, staff and residents.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 1 (Closes tomorrow)
You can apply on the employer's website from the official offer. You can also write to the town hall by post or by email.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- No remote work possible.
- Constant travel between work sites.
- Hours may be irregular, with a wide daily range.
