Civil servants and contract staff can apply. Direct hiring without a competitive exam is possible because the entry grade in category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Know maintenance methods for green areas and buildings.
- Be able to use technical equipment.
- Have a public service mindset, versatility and rigour.
- Hold a category B driving licence, required.
- Work outdoors in all weather and carry heavy loads.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 14 (Closes in 14 days)
Apply on the employer's website, from the official offer page. Send a cover letter and a CV addressed to the Mayor.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Category B driving licence required; categories C, D, E and CACES certificates needed for some machines.
- Winter or technical on-call duty possible depending on how the service is organised.
- Frequent outdoor work and lifting.
- Occasional evening or weekend events.
