1 Check the conditions You are here
Open to civil servants and contract staff. A person who did not pass a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the grade is an entry grade in category C. Open grades: adjoint technique and adjoint technique principal de 2e classe.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Organise and secure a work site
- Diagnose and repair plumbing and electrical faults
- Know basic mechanics for simple equipment upkeep
- Know plants and how to prune them
- Communicate politely with elected officials, residents and colleagues
- Adapt to bad weather and urgent situations
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 15 (Closes in 16 days)
Apply on the employer's website or send your application to the town hall. The contact details are given on the official offer.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Outdoor work in all weather
- Hours can be irregular, with a wide daily range
- No remote work
- Physically demanding job: noise, lifting, dangerous products
