Civil servants and contract agents can apply. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade is category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Experienced level. Experience in a local authority or a technical job is a plus.
The profile they look for:
- Multi-skilled, independent and good with your hands.
- Skills in building, plumbing, electrics, painting, joinery, green spaces or roads.
- Driving licence category B required, depending on how the service is organised.
- Electrical certificates, CACES or other authorisations are a plus.
- Sense of public service; motivated beginners are welcome.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Remote work is not possible.
- Working time: 35 hours over 4.5 days.
- Extra work on green spaces and roads from 15 April to 15 September.
- Indoor and outdoor work, with lifting of loads.
