Civil servants and contract workers can apply. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly, because the grade offered is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Very flexible, with hours that can be irregular.
- Frequent travel between work sites.
- Regular contact with elected officials, staff and residents.
- Physical job: lifting loads, standing for long periods, noise.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:

- Irregular hours, with busy seasons linked to the weather.
- Physically demanding job: lifting loads, noise, dangerous products.
- Open grades: adjoint technique (principal 1st or 2nd class).
