Civil servants and contract agents can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired, because the post is open on adjoint technique grades (category C).
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Experienced (confirmed level)
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Able to work outdoors and use the tools needed for the tasks.
- Versatile technical skills.
- Availability, strong public service mindset and sometimes irregular hours.
- Physically fit for handling and carrying heavy loads.
- Holds a category B driving licence; category C licence preferred.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, or send your cover letter and CV to the town hall by post or by email.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Hours can sometimes be irregular or shifted.
- Remote work is not possible.
- Rural job, often outdoors.
