Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly, because the grade is an entry grade in category C. Recognised disabled workers can also be hired on a contract basis.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP, BEP or bac pro level
Experience: Experienced; ideally in a local authority or another administration
The profile they look for:
- CAP, BEP or bac pro level, or experience in a local authority
- Driving licence category B required
- CACES certificate for machinery
- Electrical authorisation
- Able to read a plan or technical manual
- Apply health and safety rules at work
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the Emploi Territorial website, or send your application by post or email to the Ernolsheim-Bruche town hall, addressed to the Mayor.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Position vacant from 1 November 2026
- Suitable work clothing (PPE) must be worn
- On call for 4 to 6 weeks for winter road maintenance, with allowance
- Remote work not possible
