Civil servants (titulaires) and contract agents can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired, because the adjoint technique grade (category C) is an entry grade.

2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.

- Irregular hours with large daily variation.
- Very seasonal work, with peaks linked to the weather.
- Constant travel between work sites.
