Civil servants and contract staff can apply. The job is open to the grades of Adjoint technique, Adjoint technique principal 2nd class and Adjoint technique principal 1st class. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade is category C.

The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Very available, with irregular hours depending on service needs.
- Constant travel between work sites.
- Accepts seasonal work and physically demanding conditions.
- Frequent contact with elected officials, staff and residents.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.

- Irregular hours with a wide daily range.
- Job exposed to noise, heavy lifting and hazardous products.
