Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. The open grade is adjoint technique, and a person without a civil service exam can be hired directly.

The profile they look for:
- Work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Be very available.
- Accept irregular or split working hours.
- Cope with physically demanding conditions: lifting loads, noise, standing for long periods.
- Be in regular contact with elected officials, staff and residents.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.

- Constant travel between work sites.
- Irregular hours with a wide range across the day.
- Seasonal work, with peaks linked to the weather.
- Physically hard job: noise, lifting loads, dangerous products.
