1 Check the conditions You are here
Civil servants (titulaires) and contract workers can apply. A person who did not pass a public competition can be hired, because the grade is an entry-level category C grade (adjoint technique).
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Confirmed experience required.
The profile they look for:
- Work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Travel constantly between work sites.
- Be very available.
- Accept irregular or split working hours.
- Wear suitable work clothing.
- Apply health and safety rules at work.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 30 (Closes in 30 days)
Send your CV and cover letter by post to the town hall (mairie). Applications go through the town hall.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Remote work not possible.
- Physically demanding job: noise, lifting loads, dangerous machines and polluting products.
- Irregular hours with large daily variations.
- Very seasonal work, with peaks linked to the weather.
