Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the adjoint technique grade is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Accept irregular or split working hours.
- Cope with physical strain: noise, lifting loads, standing for long periods.
- Frequent contact with elected officials, staff and residents.
- The BAFA (youth leader training) would be a plus.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.

- Hours can be irregular or split, depending on service needs.
- The job involves physical strain: noise, heavy loads, dangerous products.
- The post has no management responsibilities.
