Civil servants and contract workers can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired, because the grade is an entry grade in category C. Grades: adjoint technique, adjoint technique principal 2nd or 1st class.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team
- Available, with sometimes irregular or shifted hours
- Frequent travel to work sites
- Follows safety rules and wears protective equipment
- Accepts physical work: lifting loads, standing for long periods
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Send your CV and cover letter to the town hall, by post or by email to the HR team. You can also apply on the employer's website, starting from the offer on Choisir le Service Public.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Physically demanding job: noise, lifting loads, dangerous products
- On-call duty and technical cover during town events
- Remote work not possible
- Very seasonal work, linked to weather
