Open to civil servants and contract agents. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly, because the grade is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Great availability and irregular or split working hours.
- Frequent travel between work sites.
- Able to stand for long periods and lift loads.
- Regular contact with elected officials, residents and associations.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website or send your application by email to the town hall. You can also write to the town hall by post.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Physically demanding job: noise, lifting loads, hazardous products, standing for long periods.
- Irregular hours with a wide daily range.
- Wearing suitable work clothing is required.
- Remote work is not possible.
