Civil servants and contract agents can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the grade is an entry-level category C grade.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Know how to recognise plants.
- Read a maintenance manual, a plan or a safety instruction.
- Spot faults in a building, equipment or machine.
- Follow workplace safety rules.
- Report on your work.
- Good physical stamina and a team spirit.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Send your CV and cover letter to the commune's human resources department, by email or by post. You can also apply on the employer's website.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Regular hours, with on-call duty.
- Driving licence B required; EC licence preferred.
- Habilitations and CACES for construction machinery required.
- Indoor and outdoor work, with physical strain.
