Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired, because the grade is an entry-level category C grade (adjoint technique).

The profile they look for:
- Work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Be very available, with sometimes irregular hours.
- Wear suitable work clothing.
- Be in frequent contact with elected officials and residents.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, from the official offer on Choisir le Service Public. You need to send a CV and a cover letter.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Work alone or in a small team, with constant travel between sites.
- Hours sometimes irregular, with strong seasonal peaks.
- Physically demanding job: noise, lifting loads, dangerous products and machines.
