Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. The post is open to the grade of adjoint technique principal de 1re classe, category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Experience in a small local council is wanted.
The profile they look for:
- Category B driving licence required.
- Tractor safety certificate (over and under 100 hp).
- Electrical authorisation and fire extinguisher training.
- Able to use a hedge chipper and a verge mower.
- Able to work alone and on your own initiative.
- Good contact with councillors, staff and residents.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Category B driving licence and tractor certificate required.
- Living near the village is needed to respond quickly in emergencies.
- Irregular hours, outdoor work, possible snow clearing.
- Physically demanding: noise, lifting, dangerous products and machines.
