Civil servants (titulaires) and contract workers can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired, because the grade is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Experience in local government and in technical services, preferred.
The profile they look for:
- Work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Be very available, with irregular working hours.
- Travel constantly between work sites.
- Accept strong seasonal changes and weather-related peaks.
- Be in contact with elected officials, residents and suppliers.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Remote work not possible.
- No management role.
- Physically demanding job: noise, lifting loads, dangerous products, standing for long periods.
- Irregular hours with large daily changes.
