Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly at a category C grade (adjoint technique, agent de maîtrise).
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Be able to lead and manage a team.
- Know the law that applies to local authorities.
- Be independent and well organised.
- Have varied technical skills (buildings, green spaces).
- Know safety procedures.
- Write well and use office software (Word, Excel).
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- The website says 31/10/2026, but the offer text says 30/10/2026. Check with the town hall.
- Remote work is not possible.
- If the town hall does not reply before 10/11/2026, the application is not kept.
