Open to civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired, because the adjoint technique grade (category C) allows direct recruitment.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- High availability and possibly irregular hours.
- Frequent travel between work sites.
- Able to handle physical work: lifting, noise, standing for long periods.
- Frequent contact with elected officials, staff and residents.
- Follows safety rules for oneself and for the public.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Remote work not possible.
- Very seasonal work, with peaks linked to the weather.
- Physically demanding job: noise, lifting, dangerous products.
