Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly, because the grade is an entry-level category C grade.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Very available, with irregular hours depending on the service.
- Frequent travel between work sites.
- Regular contact with elected officials, staff and residents.
- Able to cope with physical strain (lifting, noise, standing for long periods).
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, or send a cover letter and CV to the town hall by email or by post.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Part-time post, 5 hours per week.
- Can be combined with another public job, under conditions.
- Remote work is not possible.
- Hours vary with service needs, with busy periods linked to weather.
