Local civil servants can apply by transfer, eligibility list or secondment. A person who is not a civil servant can also be hired on contract, as the entry grade in category C allows direct hiring.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP or Bac Pro (building maintenance, landscaping), or strong hands-on experience
Experience: Experienced level; 2 to 5 years in a local authority or company strongly preferred
The profile they look for:
- Level 3 diploma (CAP or Bac Pro) or strong hands-on experience.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a local authority or company, strongly preferred.
- Category B driving licence required.
- CACES R 482 and R 486 strongly valued.
- Knowledge of health, safety and accessibility rules.
- Versatility, autonomy, rigour and a sense of organisation.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
