Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. A person without a competitive exam can be hired directly, because the grade is an entry grade in category C.

The profile they look for:
- Works alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Very available, irregular hours possible.
- Travels constantly between work sites.
- Able to lift loads and stand for long periods.
- Frequent contact with elected officials, the town hall and residents.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, or send your CV and cover letter by email to the town hall, preferably.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Remote work not possible.
- Irregular hours with a large daily span.
- Very seasonal work, with peaks linked to the weather.
- Hard physical job: noise, lifting loads, dangerous products.
