Civil servants and contract agents can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired, because the entry grade in category C allows direct recruitment.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Beginners accepted.
The profile they look for:
- Versatility, independence and availability.
- Good relationships with officials, colleagues, residents and suppliers.
- Rigour and respect for instructions and safety rules.
- Discretion and reliability at work.
- Accept variable hours and the on-call rota.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 20 (Closes in 21 days)
Send your CV and cover letter by email to the town hall before the deadline. The offer is also published on the employer's official site.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Full time, annual cycle: 37h30 in summer, 35h00 in winter.
- On-call duty is compulsory, about once every 5 to 6 weeks.
- Outdoor work with lifting, noise and machinery; protective equipment is required.
- No remote work possible. Saturday morning work possible.
