Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly, because the grade offered is an entry grade in category C (adjoint technique).
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team
- Very available
- Accept irregular and shifted working hours
- Follow health and safety rules at work
- Comfortable dealing with councillors and residents
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website listed in the official offer. You can also send your CV and cover letter by email to the commune.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
