Civil servants (titulaires) and contract agents can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired, because the entry grade is category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Very available, with irregular working hours.
- Travels constantly between work sites.
- Able to cope with physical and demanding work (noise, lifting, dangerous products).
- Accepts strong seasonal peaks linked to the weather.
- Frequent contact with elected officials, staff and residents.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Category C post, no staff management.
- Remote work not possible.
- Irregular hours, strong seasonal peaks and physical work.
