Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly at the entry-level adjoint technique grade (category C).
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Confirmed experience required.
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone or in a small team.
- Very available, with sometimes irregular hours.
- Frequent travel between work sites.
- Able to cope with physical strain (carrying loads, standing for long periods).
- Good contact with elected officials, staff and residents.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Position vacant from 1 January 2027.
- Irregular hours, weather-related peaks and often working alone.
- Remote work not possible.
- Job exposed to hard conditions: noise, carrying loads, hazardous products.
