Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who is not a civil servant can be hired directly, because the grade offered is an entry-level category C grade (Adjoint technique).
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team
- High availability
- Accept irregular hours and strong seasonal peaks
- Apply health and safety rules at work
- Accept physically demanding work exposed to noise and heavy loads
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website. You can also send your cover letter and CV to the town hall by email.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- You often work alone and travel constantly between sites.
- Hours may be irregular, with variable length.
- The job is very seasonal, with peaks linked to the weather.
- The work is physically demanding: noise, heavy loads, dangerous products.
