Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a public exam can be hired, because the grade is an entry-level category C grade (adjoint technique).
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Confirmed experience required.
The profile they look for:
- Able to work alone, sometimes in a small team.
- Very available, with irregular hours depending on service needs.
- Apply health and safety rules at work.
- Accept strong seasonal peaks and physically demanding work.
- Frequent contact with elected officials and residents.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 12 (Closes in 14 days)
Apply on the employer's website named in the offer. Also send a CV and a handwritten letter to the town hall.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Remote work is not possible.
- Irregular hours and constant travel between sites.
- Physically demanding job: noise, lifting, dangerous products.
