Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A candidate without a competitive exam can be hired, because the entry grade in category C allows direct recruitment.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP or BEP in green spaces
The profile they look for:
- Like working in a team and learning new skills.
- Work on your own and report to your manager.
- Follow instructions, safety rules and look after equipment.
- Show initiative and make suggestions.
- Hold a driving licence, category B.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, or send your cover letter and CV by post to the town hall.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Driving licence category B required; category C possibly.
- Certifications appreciated: CACES R486 cat. B, CACES R482, Certiphyto.
