Civil servants and contract workers can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade of category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: A diploma in the relevant field, level not stated
Experience: Experience in a school is wanted
The profile they look for:
- Knowledge of hygiene and safety rules.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of a school.
- Ability to use and store cleaning equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy loads with correct posture.
- Ability to work in a team and keep to schedules.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance or catering is a plus.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Annualised working time of 40 to 44 hours per week, with shifted hours.
- Wearing personal protective equipment is mandatory.
- A driving licence (category B) is wanted.
