Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade is category C. The post is also open through reserved access for people recognised as disabled workers.

- Respect for hierarchy and rules
- Availability, including nights and weekends if needed
- Category B driving licence required
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- On-call duty planned for winter road care
- Category C and EC licences recommended, category B required
- CACES and other certifications may be required depending on equipment
- No remote work; selection panel planned for November 2026
