Civil servants and contract agents. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired, because the entry grade in category C allows direct recruitment.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Experienced
The profile they look for:
- Basic skills in building, green spaces and site equipment.
- Knowledge of the road traffic code and criminal code.
- Ability to write official reports and incident reports.
- Basic first aid skills.
- Public service mindset, rigour and punctuality.
- Tact and good people skills with the public.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Driving licence B required.
- Approval from the Public Prosecutor and swearing-in required for the ASVP role.
- Outdoor work in all weather, with hours sometimes changing.
- Remote work not possible.
