Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a competition can be hired, because the entry grade in category C allows direct recruitment. People recognised as disabled workers can also be hired on a contract basis.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Solid knowledge of environment and plants, especially on the Atlantic coast.
- Knows health and safety rules.
- Rigorous, independent, punctual and honest.
- Sense of public service and professional discretion.
- Reactive, team player and versatile.
- Driving licence category B required.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 12 (Closes in 11 days)
Apply on the employer's website, from the offer on Choisir le Service Public. The application can also be sent by post to the town hall.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Driving licence category B required.
- Remote work not possible.
- Position vacant from 1 December 2026.
- The employer accepts candidates who are volunteer firefighters.
