Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired at this entry-level category C grade.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Experienced.
The profile they look for:
- Car driving licence (VL) minimum, lorry licence (PL) a plus.
- Knowledge of the Highway Code.
- Team spirit and public service mindset.
- Adaptability and good people skills.
- Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics and electrics.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, or send a cover letter and CV by post to the Vitrolles town hall.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- No remote work.
- Hours from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., plus Saturday morning on a rota.
- May be called in outside these hours for urban cleaning events.
