1 Check the conditions You are here
Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired, because the entry grade in category C allows direct recruitment.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Organise your work according to the schedule and instructions.
- Read product labels and follow the usage instructions.
- Use and measure cleaning products correctly.
- Basic spelling and grammar skills.
- Discretion, especially when working in occupied premises.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Send your CV and cover letter to the town hall, addressed to the Mayor, by post or by email. You can also apply on the employer's website.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Work alone or in a team, with many moves between sites.
- Regular and shifted working hours.
- Long periods standing and handling detergents.
- Wear suitable work clothing (PPE).
