Civil servants and contract workers can apply. A contract worker can be hired when no civil servant application has succeeded. You do not need to have passed a competitive exam, because the entry grade allows direct hiring.

The profile they look for:
- Know the hygiene and safety rules for public roads.
- Follow safety rules, especially for dangerous products.
- Be able to work in a team and talk with the public.
- Be punctual, independent and quick to react.
- Car driving licence (permis VL) required; lorry licence (permis PL) preferred.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

Apply on the employer's website, or send your CV and cover letter by email to the city's recruitment department.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Wearing the personal protective equipment provided is mandatory.
- Work on Saturdays and Sundays, and sometimes on public holidays.
- One weekend on duty every two months.
- Car driving licence (permis VL) required; lorry licence (permis PL) preferred.
