Civil servants (titulaires) and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired, because the adjoint technique grade is an entry grade in category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Experienced level required.
The profile they look for:
- Know hygiene and safety rules for school catering.
- Know basic teaching methods for young children.
- Know first aid steps and how to handle allergies.
- Be organised, methodical, patient and alert.
- Be able to work alone and in a team.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- No remote work possible.
- Split hours, set by individual yearly schedules, with moves between schools.
- Part-time post, less than 50% of full working time.
- Protective clothing required (overall or apron, clogs, gloves, and a hairnet for the canteen).
