Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the entry grade in category C allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Know alert procedures and how alarm systems work.
- Spot behaviour that could affect people's safety.
- Give first aid and help people in need.
- Manage keys and check access permissions.
- Stay calm and welcome the public politely.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply
Deadline: November 15 (Closes in 16 days)
Send your application by email to the employer, with the offer number in the subject line. You can also apply on the employer's website.
4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Long periods of standing.
- Regular hours, with possible on-call duty or shifts.
- A specific uniform may be required.
- The job can be done alone or in a team, indoors or outdoors.
