Civil servants and contract workers can apply. A person who did not pass a civil service competition can be hired, because the entry grade of category C allows direct hiring.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: Diploma in personal care services (BEP Health and Social Careers, DEAVS, Bac Pro Personal Services or equivalent)
Experience: A first experience with elderly people would be an asset.
The profile they look for:
- Diploma in personal care services (BEP, DEAVS, Bac Pro) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of hygiene, safety and support rules for elderly people.
- Listening skills, kindness and professional discretion.
- Adaptability, autonomy and teamwork.
- Good people skills and enjoys contact with older people.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Work one weekend in turns and some public holidays.
- Variable hours depending on the schedule, between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.
- Occasional mobility to other residences possible.
