Civil servants and contract workers can apply. A person who has not passed a competitive exam can be hired, because the grade is an entry grade in category C.

The profile they look for:
- Able to walk and do sustained physical work.
- Able to lift heavy loads and work outdoors.
- Able to use cleaning tools.
- Able to read a city map.
- Team spirit and a sense of public service.
- Enjoys contact with the public.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Work on Saturdays, Sundays, evenings and on call.
- Outdoor work in all weather.
- On-call snow clearing and gritting in winter.
- Working time: 1572 hours per year.
