Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A candidate who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired directly, because the entry grade (Adjoint du patrimoine, category C) allows it.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Experienced candidates wanted in the book and library field.
The profile they look for:
- Experience in the book and library field.
- Driving licence category B required.
- Basic knowledge of library science and digital tools.
- Good command of, or willingness to learn, a library system (ideally PMB).
- Good general and literary culture.
- Independence, rigour and organisational skills.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
