1 Check the conditions You are here
Civil servants and contract workers can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired directly, because the grade offered is an entry-level category C grade. Positions are open to people with disabilities.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Be rigorous, multi-skilled and organized.
- Be adaptable and quick to react.
- Have good speaking skills and be a good listener.
- Have a public service mindset.
- Hold a B and BE driving licence.
- Hold CACES R482 category A and know how to use a chainsaw.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Outdoor work, with lifting of loads.
- Summer and winter working hours, continuous days with a 20-minute break.
- Possible weekend on-call duty (winter road maintenance).
- Remote work is not possible.
